My butt hurts...
So I went snowboarding for the first time in my life today. I can say three definitive things:1. It's a lot harder than it looks.
2. My butt and knees hurt more than they have ever in my life.
3. Helmets are awesome.
I went snowboarding because everyone I went with today was their first time on skis. So to avoid boredom, I decided to try something new too. Luckily, I had my wonderful Austrian teacher, Katrin, who showed me all the basics. Krista was the designated ski teacher that instructed Francesca, Colleen, and Susan. Lauren was also there, but she picked it up quick enough that she was out on her own. I did really good all day until after lunch. The snow was too wet and made me fall incredibly. The snowboard would just catch a patch of slow snow and I would go flying in the opposite direction of the board. Not fun. Going down the hill and mastering the art of carving out turns = fun. Smacking into a mountain covered in ice = not fun. You get the idea. So I'm at home now and I've officially decided that I can't go running tomorrow (or until my butt feels better). I've been running a lot recently. Last week, I ran three days, but for progressively longer time periods. Started off with 35 minutes, then to 45 minutes and on Friday, me and Krista ran for an hour. It felt good. Anyway, I'm beat, I'm putting up the pictures, doing some laundry and going to sleep.
