I know I haven’t updated in a week. I’m in the process of finishing everything that way I have nothing to worry about when I come home. All of my rent is paid, paperwork is done and my laundry will be finished tonight. Tomorrow I will get my infamous and elusive carte de sejour, which is like an American green card, allowing me to live in France after my Visa expires. I really enjoy living in my new place. I feel more at home. I find myself cooking more and more baked goods. Krista told me the other day that when I made apple crisp it was the first time she felt like she was home since she moved here. I thought that was nice. Tonight I’m going to try to make gingerbread men and chocolate chip cookies. I’m going to get some last minute shopping done too. Because the holidays are coming, the mall in town is now open for today (Sunday) and next Sunday. I’ve done a few trips in the last two weeks. Yesterday night, Krista, Francesca and I went to see the Festival of Lights in Lyon. I had a ton of fun.

Last weekend, I went with the girls to a Christmas market in St. Vallier. It’s a cute little town, but not much to do. It made Jefferson look like a huge city.

One quick last thing, I extended my vacation a week. I’ve been working a lot of overtime and I asked my bosses if it would be okay and they said it was. So. I will be leaving France on Friday, December 16th. I will return to France Sunday, January 8th. It’s a three-week vacation in the states and I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to it.
