Arles
I took the train from Valence to Arles on Saturday morning and as the train went south, it was raining less and less. I arrived in Arles around noon. Unfortunately I didn’t know that most of the monuments closed in September. So I walked around and took pictures from the gates and I did whatever was open.
Arles is famous for two things: it’s age and it’s artists. Van Gogh chopped his ear off in this town after two years of painting and Picasso painted the bullfights that happened in the local arena. This town dates back to before the first century A.D. The arena was built 2000 years ago. It was very impressive. I’m not going to write much right now.
